Our Discover Puglia Self-Guided tour offers our guests the opportunity to experience unforgettable moments in contact with the most untainted scenery of the Puglian landscape. Our daily bike tours are about 50 kilometers each, offering a journey through the enchanting historical landscape views of Monopoli, Alberobello and the “Valley of the Trulli”. As you cycle along the typical small streets of Puglia, you will discover the architectural beauty that characterize this area as well as breathtaking landscapes. Moreover, you can enjoy moments of absolute relaxation. The region that we invite you to discover offers a varied landscape that alternates relaxing flat paths to the most characteristic ups and downs decorated with stretches of centuries-old olive trees.

Day 1


Arrive in Masseria with your own transportation, check into your rooms, presentation of the tour with the guides and bike fitting.

This route, about 25 kilometers long, is THE first and shortest itinerary that gives you the opportunity to visit the typical and traditional Apulia and one of the beautifoul historical center of the towns on the coast of Monopoli. After 5 kilometers, you will have the first stop and have a guided visit to a new and old oil mill and have the opportunity to sample olive oils. After, you will continue long the coastline for about 12 kilometers, to arrive in Monopoli: where we will visit the historic center of medieval origin.

We will cross the high perimeter walls, to discover its fabulous architecture, until you reach the noteworthy “Giuseppe Garibaldi” square which is full of places where you can have a local snack. After enjoying the stop and the delights of Monopoli, you will return to the Masseria pedalling the last 8 kilometers.


Day 2

Distance: 31 miles
Terrain: Rolling hills


This route, about 50 kilometers long, is certainly one of the most evocative itineraries of the Valle d’Itria: we will be immersed in nature among olive trees, trulli and wonderful landscapes that are unique in the world. These are the real components of this cycling experience.

Departure from Masseria Santa Teresa (Monopoli).

The first part of the route, characterized by a panorama of ancient olive trees, leads to the town of Coreggia. Along the “Panoramica” of Monopoli, a small climb of about 5 kilometers, it is possible to enjoy a wonderful view between the intense blue of the sea and an expanse of olive trees that stretches from the coast to the hills of the Murgia. At the end of the slight slope, you will enter the district of Monopoli, bounded by dry stone walls and Trulli, and from there, you will reach Alberobello, “capital of the trulli and a UNESCO world heritage site”.

You will be surprised by the peculiarity of the houses of Alberobello: you will have the opportunity to visit the quaint streets of the village, full of souvenir shops and dining options where you can taste the local delicacies, allowing yourself a relaxing lunch break. After lunch, you will cycle for about 20 kilometers along the districts of Valle d’Itria and then return to Masseria Santa Teresa.


Day 3

Departure con Late check-out (h.16.00pm)

Distance: 27 miles
Terrain: Rolling hills/ almost flat (long the sea coast)


This itinerary, about 43 kilometers long, will lead us to the discovery of the typical colors and scents of Puglia and the Adriatic Sea will be the frame.

After a morning bike ride of approximately 12 kilometers, you will arrive in the fraction of Capitolo, a well known local beach area. Cycling further along the coast, you will head for the excavations of Egnazia, one of the most interesting archaeological sites of Puglia, for those interested, may have the option to visit. After the break, in a few kilometers, you will arrive at Savelletri, mainly known for its characteristic port and for the presence of ancient buildings on the cliffs called the “White Houses”. Along the coastline, after about 12 kilometers, you will arrive in contrada Vagone where you can find "Tenuta Gemi", a small farm where you can have a nice lunch break and taste their homemade wine. After lunch, you have to cycle for another 10 kilometers to arrive back at Masseria Santa Teresa.
